Writing Professional Cover Letters

A professional cover letter will certainly be a start when you're trying to get in the door and be seen. Remember that it is the cover letter that brings the person to attention that you might be applicable for the position. There will be tons of resumes, and each one will (possibly lie) to say that they have exactly the qualifications that are needed, on paper.

However, it isn't paper that they are hiring. They want to know that this particular person is the one who's ordained for their position. Everybody thinks in that way, deep down. They think there's such a thing, so give that to them. Tell them in your cover letter just why you, in particular, are the exact one at the exact moment in time to by judicious selection happened to land right in their lap. There you are; that interests them. So, you can see the power that a professional cover letter can bring to a situation.

When someone is trying to get a customer service job, they are going to have lots of experience being patient with people's needs.

What if you don't yet have any business experience? What if you have never made any cover letter before in your life?

You might be wishing to make out an administrative assistant cover letter, though you've never done anything like that before. You can type, you can even type 80 words per minute; but what else is needed in that position is what you have to ask yourself. A professional cover letter will tell the employer that you're an exact match because you have patience, not just because you have patience in a work situation. If you haven't ever worked yet, then you have to think of moments in your life experience which proved that you have patience.

I went cross-country by bicycle, twice. In total, the two trips took over a year and four months to accomplish and I went over 8800 miles. Those trips weren't work experience, but they certainly gave me lots of things I could put down that proved my gumption, were examples of fortitude under pressure, and gave proof that I had patience and perseverance.

If I was going to try for a job in marketing (which I would hate, so I wouldn't do that)¡ but if I was, then I would be able to pull from those experiences things which would lead me to obtaining a job in that field. However, I would have to LOVE working in that field. Apply for things that you'd love doing, you'll get them; be daring. I once ran a television station. I not only ran it, but I designed both the software that made it work and the hardware as well. I was the director, the artist, and I built a team of 24 volunteers and interns who helped me accomplish that feat. It was my previous hard work, throughout years, that gave me the right skills so that when I got in the right place and it was the right time, I was the perfect candidate for that job. So, write a professional cover letter, and put down just exactly the best things that you are, and how the things you've done in your life relate to what they have needs of.
