Good Cover: Be Unique, Be Assertive

When you're trying to get a job, you'll need a good cover letter example to go by so you'll know how to form the letter in a professional way. Myself, I would recommend doing things in a different way, if you want to be noticed. I create an interactive CD, and I build a website which has examples of my work. Then, I create artwork which makes the CD look like any professional CD I might buy at a music store. It has both an inside and an outside, and I print it onto photo paper on my printer. That goes along with the cover letter and resume. So, a resume just sits in a pile with the others. Resume/cover letter, resume/cover letter, resume/cover letter, resume/cover letter and amazing CD with cool graphics. What's inside it? You think they can resist that? Nope. Oftentimes they have invited me in for an interview just so they can meet me. So, resume cover letter template is good; but won't it just make you look like everybody else? Are you like everybody else? In fact, do you even want, in the situation where there's a pile of resumes on the guy's desk, to look like everybody else? Stand out and scream, "I'm the one." Will a good cover letter example really give you that really good job you want? Or, will it put you in the mediocrity bin just because you're the next in line just like the hundred other 'applicants' in his pile. "Next!" So, what's a "good cover letter example", but something that is interesting and different. Even listening to the word sequence, "good cover letter example" says, "Boy am I a dull person!" Well, get that stick out of your butt and get different. Get a desktop publishing program and create a cover letter that is an advertisement about you. Make it impressive, do it in a way which shows you got exactly what they want. Don't be goofy, or non-professional. But, do something that stands out. Using graphics can make yours stand out in front of all the others. Searching for "resume cover letter template", do you think a cover letter template is going to make you stand out from the rest? Will it say, "This guy is innovative!" Probably not. Therefore, a good cover letter says, "Wow, I'm just amazing and amazing is what you need. This is where I'm amazing, and this is what I can do for your company." In order to get employment, you need to be different than the rest. You need to stand out and be heard. You do not need a standard resume, you need a new solution. Businesses needs new solutions, and therefore they'll want you if you can offer them a new solution. That's what makes a good cover letter example, innovation and determination. |
